Frequently Asked Questions
What Is a Satsang?
In Sanskrit, “Satsang” means “being in the company of truth.” A Satsang is more than a gathering—it’s a space where people come together to support each other on the path of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Through shared practices like meditation, chanting, and reflection, we create an environment of mutual encouragement, curiosity, and connection.
Do I need to be religious to join?
No, our Satsang is open to everyone, regardless of background, beliefs, or experience. Our focus is on universal principles like love, mindfulness, and service.
Who are Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba?
Ram Dass was a spiritual teacher, author of Be Here Now, and a pioneer in bringing Eastern philosophy to the West. Neem Karoli Baba, often called Maharajji, was Ram Dass’s guru and a revered saint known for his teachings of unconditional love and service.

What happens at a typical Satsang gathering?
A typical gathering on the first Saturday of the month will include meditation, chanting (like the Hanuman Chalisa), a talk or reflection on spiritual teachings, time for connection and discussion and a potluck!
On the fourth Saturday of the month, we will have a more informal gathering, which will typically include a film screening, potluck, and socializing.
